A document is a written or printed record that contains information, data, or instructions in a fixed form that can be stored, transmitted, or communicated. ## Why it matters The model covers the document types the industry produces rather than a generic file record — the loan application and its coborrower variant, tax returns and their schedules, wage statements, the loan estimate, closing data and the preapproval letter each have a recorded mapping into this model.
